While the W and S are not scheme specific, the term &quot;Mike&quot; is used primarily in reference to the middle linebacker in a 4-3.  It is generally not used to refer to the two inside linebackers in a 3-4.  So in that regard, it actually is scheme specific.</description>

The Sam plays on the strong side, or where the TE is. For the Steelers, that&#039;s generally Harrison. The Will plays on the weak side or where the TE isn&#039;t. Now, that&#039;s Woodley it used to be Haggans.
