DCBill,
Thanks for the compliment. Unfortunately I am DEFINITELY wasting my daylight hours in a "non-communications" field. But hey, we all have to pay bills.

Excellent observations and commentary.

I hope you are not wasting your daylight hours in some "non-communications" field?

Lauren Hearn,
Hi!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad you took the time to find my blog! It is really great to hear from you.

It was nice meeting you and your family. My readers should know that you and your family were the ones that I was laughing with when Big Snack was being VERY lazy during practice. I'm sure you got a good laugh at the pictures that I took of him.

It was great meeting your family. Please visit my blog again.

Ashley Bright,
Initially I thought Limas was going to win the #3 position. Now I am not so sure. Limas is clearly better this year than he was last year. However, the other receivers are better than I expected.

Mike Wallace is very good. He has good hands, and he is FAST. Shaun McDonald is unspectacular but solid. Either of them could beat out Limas for the #3 position. Frankly, if I had to rate them right now, I'd probably say Wallace was leading, then Limas, then McDonald. I think those 3 along with Hines and Santonio are going to make up the receiving corps this year.

As far as the running backs go, Rashard is looking good. He will definitely be taking some touches away from Willie Parker.

I could be wrong, but I think that Mewelde is a lock at his position. He proved something last year when Willie and Rashard were hurt. He carried the team in their absence. I think the coaches remember that. I don't know if fans truly understand that without Mewelde Moore last year, the Steelers might not have won the Super Bowl. I think he has earned the trust of the coaches. That's why his position is assured.

Keith,
Thanks! If I've converted a Titans fan to a Steelers fan, then I must be doing a good job.

Freddie,
It is very difficult for me to give a good assessment of the offensive linemen. The reason is that the team is not going at full speed yet. There is no tackling allowed, and they can't touch the quarterback. Since the defenders aren't allowed to touch Big Ben, it makes it hard to tell how well the offensive line is protecting him. The same holds true for the defensive linemen. It's hard to tell if Bruce Davis is doing a good job fighting through blocks when he's not allowed to tackle anyone.

The wide receivers, quarterbacks, and defensive backs are the only ones that we can get an accurate read on at this point. And even they aren't going 100%. After all, in a real game a DB would have the option of smashing a receiver who was making a catch. They can't do that here. So even the DB's and WRs are hard to read.
