Steelers vs. Ravens recap haiku contest
Well, we got the defensive struggle that we all anticipated. But in the end, the Steelers proved that their defense was superior to Baltimore’s. More importantly, the Steelers’ offense proved that they better than Baltimore’s as well.
With their 13-9 victory, the Steelers clinched the AFC North title, and a first round bye. It might not have been pretty, but a win is a win.
As I do each week, I will summarize the game in the form of a haiku. A haiku is a form of Japanese poetry that contains only 3 lines. The first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables, and the third line has 5 syllables. Here is my offering for this week:
Ball did not break plane
We’ll take the win anyway
AFC North champs!

Ward proved to Ravens
They are not bounty hunters
Dog is not impressed.

Ninty-Two yards. Clutch.
The game all but lost
Big Ben and a real close call
Seal the victory
Baltimore Harbor
And the wives of their players
All of them have crabs
Baltimore gets screwed
Steeler fans couldn’t care less
I liked it, really
It happened again
Ben came through so did Hines
in Ninety-two yards
Steelers won it and
shortened my life span again
AFC North Champs
Steelers lay claim to
division championship
first round bye is theirs
The Ravens will whine
about that touchdown by Tone
to excuse their loss for years
Was it in or out?
Doesn’t really matter for
Ninety-one reasons
Male cheerleaders prance
To that dumb Ray Lewis dance
Man, is your team Gaay!
Terrell Suggs threatens
Ray Lewis just kills people
Steelers beat down thugs
Ravens they are named
But Steelers took cue from Poe
And said “Nevermore”
i vote for patrick’s first one about terrell suggs and bounty, but here’s my shot:
mitch got a mouthful
of spit. yuck. but two losses
must taste so much worse.
